To store corn in its husk:

  • Keep the husk on the corn; don't take it off until you're ready to use it. The husk serves as a natural barrier and keepd in moisture keeping the corn fresh.

  • To store the maize, find a cool, well-ventilated space, like a cool basement or pantry. The maize may quickly dry out if kept in direct sunlight or close to heat sources.

  • To keep maize fresh for longer, keep it away from fruits that produce ethylene, such as apples, bananas, and tomatoes.

  • Corn in the husk is finest when eaten fresh, so use it within two to three days. The maize may lose some of its taste and tenderness with time.
